The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) offers programs that can help you and your family with temporary assistance when times are tough. The types of programs include but are not limited to cash, childcare and food assistance, homeless services, and emergency relief.

The Anishnaabek Community and Family Services (ACFS) provide human services or social services for the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians. They offer programs such as Direct Services, Child Placement, and the Advocacy Resource Center.

The Chippewa Luce Mackinac Community Action Agency (CLMCAA) provides many services to those who are in need of assistance. Their programs include Weatherization, Housing/Emergency Shelter, Senior and Childhood Services.

Enjoy a nutritionally balanced lunch at Chippewa-Luce-Mackinac Community Action's dining site where people are brought together to each lunch and socialize in a group setting. If you are age 60 years or older, or if you are the spouse of a person age 60 years or older, you are eligible to attend.
Location: Calery Center - 524 Ashmun St.
Date/Time: Monday-Friday at noon.
The home delivered meals program is designed to assist home-bound seniors with their dietary needs.
Each meal is nutritionally balanced and delivered to the homes of seniors who are unable to attend the congregate meal sites. This program provides meals for seven days a week to eligible participants.
